[working] Buying a Vitamix at Costco: Current Models, Bundles and Prices

A Costco buying guide covering common Vitamix models, prices, warranty, payment plans and demos.

This guide covers Costco in the United States and was updated on June 23, 2026. Prices and warehouse availability can change by location.

Looking for the latest Vitamix deals?

Costco and Vitamix Direct both run promotions throughout the year. Check the current price before ordering, especially when Costco Instant Savings or a Vitamix seasonal sale is active.

‍

Is Costco the Best Place to Buy a Vitamix?

Costco can be one of the best places to buy a Vitamix, but only for certain models.

Its selection is much smaller than the lineup available from Vitamix Direct. However, Costco offers an exclusive blender, a heavily discounted Ascent X4, and several kitchen-system bundles that include containers or food-processing accessories that would normally be purchased separately.

Costco’s current regularly listed Vitamix lineup includes:

  • Vitamix Alta Pro
  • Vitamix Ascent X4 Blender
  • Vitamix Ascent X2 SmartPrep Kitchen System Deluxe
  • Vitamix Ascent X4 SmartPrep Kitchen System Ultra
  • Vitamix A2500 with Aer Disc Container, available through occasional Special Events

The first four are the most dependable current options. The Alta Pro is Costco’s primary warehouse model, while the X4 and SmartPrep systems are listed as online-only products. The A2500 bundle is connected to Costco’s Vitamix Special Events program and may not always be available.

Vitamix Alta Pro

Costco’s Best-Value Full-Size Vitamix

The Vitamix Alta Pro is exclusive to Costco. It has a 2.2-horsepower motor, a dishwasher-safe 64-ounce low-profile container, variable speeds 1 through 10, Pulse, a digital timer, and a tamper indicator. It also has automatic programs for Smoothies, Hot Soups, and Self-Cleaning.

Included with the Alta Pro

  • Alta Pro motor base
  • 64-ounce low-profile container
  • Low-profile tamper
  • Motor-base tamper holder
  • 10-year limited warranty

Its low-profile container provides enough room for family-sized smoothies, soups, sauces, and frozen drinks while keeping the total height to 17 inches. The container and lid are dishwasher-safe.

‍

Why the Alta Pro Might Be Worth It

The Alta Pro is the best Costco Vitamix for shoppers who want a large container and a few useful presets without paying for a complete smart-blending system. Its normal warehouse price is commonly around $399.99, and it regularly receives Instant Savings discounts. At the time of this update, the in-warehouse register price is commonly $319.99 after an $80 discount through June 26, 2026.

That sale price is particularly attractive because Vitamix currently charges $349.95 for a Certified Reconditioned Alta Pro with a 5-year warranty. Costco’s new machine includes a 10-year limited warranty and is temporarily less expensive.

The main limitation is accessory compatibility. The Alta Pro accepts many traditional 32-, 48-, and 64-ounce Vitamix containers, including the Aer Disc and stainless-steel containers. However, it does not work with the 12-Cup Food Processor Attachment or the SELF-DETECT blending-cup and bowl blade base. Buyers interested in those attachments should choose an Ascent model instead.

Best for: Families, large batches, straightforward controls, and shoppers seeking the lowest price on a new full-size Vitamix.

‍

Vitamix Ascent X4 Blender

Costco’s Best Premium Stand-Alone Blender

Costco sells the Vitamix Ascent X4 in a Black Stainless Metal finish. It includes a 48-ounce container, low-profile tamper, tamper holder, printed recipe book, and 10-year full warranty. The blender is an online-only Costco item, and standard shipping is included in the quoted price.

The X4 has five automatic blending programs:

  • Smoothies
  • Frozen Desserts
  • Hot Soups
  • Frozen Cocktails
  • Dips and Spreads

It also has variable speeds 1 through 10, Pulse, an automatic Self-Cleaning program, a digital timer, a tamper indicator, and a button that adds 15 seconds to an automatic cycle. The X4 supports compatible Ascent and Venturist SELF-DETECT containers and attachments, including Vitamix’s Food Processor Attachment.

‍

Why the Costco X4 Might Be Worth It

The Costco X4 has recently been listed at $499.99. Vitamix Direct lists the same model at $699.95 before temporary promotions, making Costco’s regular price approximately $200 lower.

That makes the X4 an unusually strong Costco deal. You receive Vitamix’s premium touch interface, five programs, smart-accessory compatibility, and a 10-year full warranty for around the same price as a less advanced Ascent X2 purchased from many other retailers.

The trade-off is container size. The included 48-ounce container is designed for approximately one to four servings. It is easier to use for individual smoothies and small recipes, but it does not offer the Alta Pro’s 64-ounce capacity. A compatible 64-ounce SELF-DETECT container can be purchased separately.

Costco also limits this offer to the Black Stainless Metal finish. Vitamix Direct provides a wider selection of colors, but at a considerably higher regular price.

Best for: Buyers who want a premium Ascent blender, automatic programs, smart attachments, and one of Costco’s largest stand-alone blender discounts.

‍

Vitamix Ascent X2 SmartPrep Kitchen System Deluxe

The Best Costco Bundle for Most Home Cooks

The Ascent X2 SmartPrep Kitchen System Deluxe combines a full Vitamix blender with a 12-cup food processor.

The Costco bundle includes

  • Ascent X2 motor base
  • 48-ounce blending container
  • 64-ounce low-profile blending container
  • S2 low-profile tamper
  • Tamper holder
  • 12-Cup Food Processor Attachment
  • Multi-use food-processing blade
  • Reversible slicing and shredding discs
  • Food pushers and storage accessories
  • 10-year full warranty on the X2
  • 3-year warranty on the Food Processor Attachment

The X2 has automatic programs for Smoothies, Frozen Desserts, and Hot Soups, along with variable-speed control, Pulse, a digital timer, SELF-DETECT technology, and an automatic Self-Cleaning program.

‍

Why the X2 SmartPrep Bundle Might Be Worth It

Costco’s X2 SmartPrep system is normally listed at approximately $699.99. Vitamix Direct currently lists its standard X2 SmartPrep system at $749.95 before sales, but the direct package only includes the 48-ounce blending container. Costco adds the 64-ounce low-profile container to its bundle.

The two container sizes make the Costco package more flexible. The 48-ounce container is better suited to individual smoothies, dips, sauces, and smaller recipes. The 64-ounce container provides more room for family-sized soups, frozen drinks, and meal preparation.

The Food Processor Attachment can chop, mix, knead, slice, and shred. For someone who needs both a blender and a food processor, the package can replace two separate motorized appliances while giving you two blending containers.

It is less attractive for someone who primarily makes smoothies. The food processor and additional container require considerable storage space, and much of the bundle’s value is lost when those accessories remain unused.

Best for: Buyers who need a blender and food processor, want both small and large containers, and prefer the X2’s physical controls.

‍

Vitamix Ascent X4 SmartPrep Kitchen System Ultra

Costco’s Most Complete Vitamix Package

The Ascent X4 SmartPrep Kitchen System Ultra combines the X4 blender with Costco’s largest selection of blending and food-processing accessories.

The Costco bundle includes

  • Ascent X4 motor base
  • 48-ounce blending container
  • 64-ounce blending container
  • S2 low-profile tamper
  • Tamper holder
  • 12-Cup Food Processor Attachment
  • Five food-processing blades and discs
  • Storage case

The X4 provides five blending programs, variable-speed control, Pulse, Self-Cleaning, a digital timer, tamper guidance, and the Add 15 Seconds function. The package includes tools for chopping, mixing, kneading, slicing, shredding, julienning, and creating vegetable sticks.

‍

Why the X4 SmartPrep Bundle Might Be Worth It

Costco lists the X4 SmartPrep Kitchen System Ultra at approximately $799.99. That is around $100 more than the Costco X2 system. For the additional money, the X4 provides two more blending programs, a more advanced display, touch controls, a tamper indicator, the Add Time button, and additional food-processing discs.

Vitamix Direct’s comparable X4 Gourmet SmartPrep Kitchen System has a regular price of $899.95 and was $849.95 at the time of this update. The direct package includes the X4 and expanded food-processing accessories, but it does not include Costco’s additional 64-ounce blending container.

The Costco Ultra package therefore makes sense for serious home cooks who will use all three major parts of the system: the 48-ounce container, the 64-ounce container, and the food processor. It is particularly useful for meal preparation, large families, and anyone trying to reduce the number of motorized appliances on the counter.

It is also a large package. The two containers, 12-cup work bowl, food pushers, blades, discs, and storage cases require significantly more cabinet space than a stand-alone Vitamix.

Best for: Frequent home cooks who want Vitamix’s most complete Costco bundle and will regularly use the additional food-processing tools.

‍

Vitamix A2500 with Aer Disc Container

A Special-Event Bundle for Cocktails, Foams, and Emulsions

Costco maintains a special-order listing for the Vitamix A2500 with a 48-ounce Aer Disc Container. The A2500 has variable-speed control, Pulse, a digital timer, and programs for Smoothies, Hot Soups, and Frozen Desserts. The blender has a 10-year full warranty, while the Aer Disc Container has a 3-year warranty.

Instead of a traditional blade, the Aer Disc Container uses a perforated disc. It can muddle cocktails, whip cream, create cold foam, emulsify sauces, and extract flavor from herbs and fruit without completely puréeing the ingredients.

‍

Why the A2500 Bundle Might Be Worth It

This package can be a good value for someone who regularly makes craft cocktails, whipped cream, hollandaise, foamed coffee drinks, or similar recipes. The Aer Disc is a specialized container, so the bundle is less compelling for someone who only makes smoothies and soups.

Availability is the problem. Costco currently promotes this package through its Vitamix Special Events program, but no events were scheduled when this guide was updated. Pricing and availability can therefore depend on the roadshow schedule and individual warehouse.

Best for: Entertaining, cocktails, culinary foams, whipped cream, and shoppers who find it during a discounted Costco roadshow.

‍

What Happened to the E520, E320, and Venturist Pro?

Older Costco Vitamix models may still appear in search results or at individual warehouses. These have included the E320, E520, Venturist 1200, and Venturist Pro.

The E520 package included a 64-ounce container and two 22-ounce tumblers, while the Venturist Pro provided SELF-DETECT compatibility and a 10-year warranty. However, current Costco Same-Day pages show the E520 and Venturist Pro as out of stock in the checked delivery area. They should be treated as warehouse-dependent clearance products rather than part of Costco’s dependable current lineup.

The Alta Pro is now the primary Costco-exclusive full-size blender, while the X2 and X4 systems have replaced many of Costco’s older Ascent and Venturist bundles.

Vitamix Direct offers more models, finishes, and certified reconditioned choices. Costco generally offers fewer options but stronger pricing on the specific products it carries.

‍

Costco Membership Cost

A Costco Gold Star Membership currently costs $65 per year. An Executive Membership costs $130 per year and provides a 2% annual reward on qualifying purchases, up to $1,250.

Existing Costco members should not add the membership fee to the cost of the blender because it is not an additional expense. Someone joining only to purchase a Vitamix should include at least $65 when comparing the final cost.

Even after adding a new Gold Star Membership, Costco’s $499.99 X4 can remain less expensive than buying the same model directly from Vitamix at its regular price. The bundles may also justify the membership fee through their additional containers and attachments.

‍

Coupons and Instant Savings

Costco does not usually require a separate coupon code for its Vitamix promotions. Instant Savings are applied automatically to eligible purchases during the promotional period.

The Alta Pro’s current $80 discount is an example. Other models, particularly the X2 SmartPrep system, have also received periodic discounts. The X2 bundle has previously dropped from $699.99 to $549.99.

Unless you need a machine immediately, it may be worth watching for an Instant Savings promotion. The Alta Pro and SmartPrep bundles have enough price movement that waiting can save between $80 and $150.

‍

Warranty and Returns

Buying through Costco does not reduce the manufacturer’s warranty.

Vitamix Alta Pro
10-year limited warranty

Vitamix Ascent X4
10-year full warranty

Vitamix X2 SmartPrep System
10-year full warranty on the blender
3-year warranty on the Food Processor Attachment

Vitamix X4 SmartPrep System
10-year full warranty on the blender
3-year warranty on the Food Processor Attachment

The exact terminology matters: Vitamix describes the Alta Pro warranty as “limited,” while the Ascent X warranties are described as “full.”

Costco also provides its standard satisfaction guarantee, subject to exceptions and limitations. Countertop blenders are not listed among the electronics and major appliances restricted to a 90-day return period. Costco.com purchases can be returned through Costco’s online process or taken to a warehouse.

‍

Payment Plans

The old claim that Costco does not offer a payment plan is no longer accurate.

Costco.com now accepts Affirm for eligible orders. Costco advertises payment terms of 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, or 36 months on qualifying purchases of at least $400. Standard rates range from 10% to 36% APR, although limited promotional rates may occasionally be available. Eligibility, term length, down payment, and interest rate are determined during checkout.

This means Costco financing is not automatically interest-free. Compare the total amount paid rather than judging an offer only by its monthly payment.

Vitamix Direct also offers Affirm, so financing alone is not a major reason to choose one retailer over the other.

‍

Costco Vitamix Demos

Costco still maintains a Vitamix Special Events program. These demonstrations typically focus on the A2500 and Aer Disc bundle, allowing shoppers to see smoothies, soups, frozen desserts, cocktails, and foams prepared in person.

However, the official schedule showed no events when this guide was updated. Roadshows rotate between warehouses, so a demonstration may not be available in every region or at every time of year.

A demo can be particularly helpful when deciding whether the Aer Disc or Food Processor Attachment is something you would actually use. Check Costco’s Special Events schedule before making a separate trip.

‍

Conclusion

Costco Offers Excellent Vitamix Deals, but Only on a Small Selection

Costco is one of the best places to purchase a Vitamix when one of its specific models matches your needs. The selection is limited, but the prices and bundle contents can be considerably better than buying the same equipment separately.

Choose the Vitamix Alta Pro if you want the best overall value, a 64-ounce container, simple physical controls, and a few useful programs.

Choose the Vitamix Ascent X4 if you want Costco’s best premium stand-alone blender, SELF-DETECT accessory compatibility, and five automatic programs.

Choose the Vitamix X2 SmartPrep Kitchen System Deluxe if you want the best balance of price, container flexibility, and food-processing capability.

Choose the Vitamix X4 SmartPrep Kitchen System Ultra if you want the most complete package and expect to use its additional programs, containers, blades, and discs.

Choose the A2500 and Aer Disc bundle if cocktails, foams, whipped cream, and emulsions are a priority—and you can find an active Costco Special Event.

Best overall Costco value: Vitamix Alta Pro
Best premium stand-alone deal: Vitamix Ascent X4
Best bundle for most buyers: Vitamix X2 SmartPrep Kitchen System Deluxe
Best complete kitchen system: Vitamix X4 SmartPrep Kitchen System Ultra
